I know what I'm getting with wes Ward, so no, I'm not surprised.
What does surprise me is Brian Michael who seems pretty well regarded in KY circles - his dad was a big insurance guy for the industry - but I'd never heard of him till yesterday.
With 7 total published works THIS YEAR ( 3 since Aug 30 - all slow) Cozzie Rags wins at 88:1. Cozzie Rags cost $15k. Sire fee is $30k. In a race that had 4 entered which cost over $100k, he beat them all. Some top notch trainers and all the good jocks competed. There was a huge weight advantage which went overlooked by me and apparently the rest of America. To have this overlooked at Belterra/Fairmount/CA festival racing, OK....Not KNLD.
Congrats Brian, perhaps training isn't as hard as I was led to believe. In doing a little research you have a talent for longshots with jocks I've never heard of. You are on my radar screen now with the new key angle of "no work pattern, no jock, fair - not great- breeding, lot of prayer". Till next time you enter...
