So, they moved Runningwithscissors down in Race 8 for coming in front of a horse in mid stretch and causing that horse to clip heels and go down. In the last race today, the winner did a similar thing to my eye going into the first turn. He came over and caused the horse behind him to clip heels and while he did not go down, it certainly took away any momentum. The incident looked very similar to me, yet they did not move the winner down in this instance. He was much the best and ran huge, but I was curious why they did not move him down. Of course, there was no explanation given for two of the inquiries today at all where there was no change and they gave a very brief one when the did the DQ. Isn't it just as important to explain why you are not making a DQ as it is explaining why a horse coame down? I think transparency is very important in this sport - perhaps more than ever, and the stewards did a terrible job today with that as the two rulings seemed inconsistent to me with little or no explanation.
