"I am inclined to the theory that if a man knows enough to go to the races, he needs no doctor. A good tout is the best physician for a confirmed horseplayer, and any perscription he writes that pays 5-1 or better tonifies the blood, synchronizes the pulse, regularies the functions, and lets bygones be bygones."
A.J Liebling (1904-1963) was a writer for the New Yorker. He wrote on many topics, but always his works are filled with experienced references to horse racing.
