Rebel Rebel, the old David Bowie song? I remember that one.

Its a love affair with First Samurai. He's by eveybody's favorite B.C. Classic wise guy horse, Giant's Causeway, who is by everyones favorite Derby Hopeful sire, Storm Cat. Steve Haskin wrote a very glowing article about First Samurai pre B.C. Classic, which seemed to be out of character for him. He was one of the very few to not jump upon the Bellamny Road band wagon post Wood. Anyway, I got in touch with him over his glowing remarks about First Samurai and he drew back a bit from them.

Of course now the wonder horse has lost two straight and still hasn't seen two turns. Is Brothers hiding them from him? He reminds me of Pulpit. (I'm not sure why, Pulpit didn't start at 2 and was running fairly well at two turns.) If i'm not mistaken Pulpit was also trained by Brothers. Frank Brothers is everyones sentimental favorite to win the Derby too, so that may be part of it. The horse is probably talented enough to run hard in Kentucky, but theres little reason to believe he's much more than a precocious Storm Cat. Of course, I thought the same about Blue Grass Cat pre Sammy Davis. Maybe they will run One-Two in the Derby. If they do, it will sure beat me.
