Aaaaaaaah the good ole days. Wasn't it the Little River Band that sang "Reminiscing". Wayne out west, Jeff in the East. Don't underestimate the Power of the Dark Side.
For these guys (Baffert, Lukas, Zito) it is what the owners want however it does take a toll on the stock. Something several writers have finally begun to catch on to. That this wasn't just the work of a mad scientist (Lukas).
Baffert has certainly seasoned himself. Both personally and professionally. He used to work his horses every 6 days, now it is more like 9. If he goes back to 6 leading up to the Derby you know he is seriously winding them up. If he remains around 9 then he isn't trying to change the routine.
