Noticed Super Frolic isn't among the entrys and am a little surprised at that. The 10 poles suits him and he has run well on the surface. The purse is the same as the Goodwood and they are both Grade II's. Certainly can't understand why they didn't opt for what on paper looks to be a significantly softer spot in the H. Gold cup. Can Super Frolic be HOTY by beating Lava Man out there and winning the Breeders Cup Classic? Well, maybe but even if he pulled off those two wins the HOTY matter would be very debatable.

Without Super Frolic its an interesting race. They've made Papi Chulo the morning line favorite and can't disagree with that. Theres a couple of morning line horses at 8-1 one of which could make some noise. Well, I'll be a little more revealing. The horse which I believe may move up enough to seriously challenge is this one:

Note his sire is a Derby winner and his Maternal side Grandma a 10 pole Distaff winner. Granted that side of the pedigree hasn't produced a whole lot but this horse is a serious over achiever when it comes to his TGI sire averages. He's moved up big time each year and Grindstones do improve with age under TGI. I'm guessing this one will improve with distance also and am going to project a top here. Whether thats good enough to win is another matter.

Read Pletcher has Lawyer Ron now. The horse may not be a 10 pole horse but he will certainly move him up a point. Either that or break him down.

Commentator to train up on Polynonsense to the Breeders Cup Sprint. Why not the Classic? Put some bottom into him!
