The Louisiana Derby was all telling according to richie b.
Fast pace, perfect trip and nobody in the field? I would agree
with just the fast pace part.I hardly consider 4 wide in the far turn
perfect. As far as the field he beat:Ketchikan was runner-up and coming
off a 1/2 TG#.This horse was a Bear until injury sidelined him.Zanjero
was our 3rd place finisher. The Blue Grass is a tough measuring stick, but
the bottom line is Zanjero was beaten a nose and a head for all the cheese.
CQ walked his dog in the LD.
C'mon boys. We're in an ever changing world.8 weeks is not a big deal.
If you look hard there are enough cases with horses coming back off deeper
layoffs and running monster races. It's not as if he's been turned out. He's
been training like a banchee and next week he'll explode when Johnny V clucks
to him at the 3/8th's pole.
