Please accept my apoligies.....
Every horse in the race had a chink in their armour so to speak. Long layoff into the Classic for many of the 3yo's which doesn't work, several 2nd off the layoff not a positive for this race, an ugly X after 4 neg #'s Macho, EA off 2 big numbers last going backwards, Volp off the top, but it was a break through his 3yo top, a very positive angle and a must play at most odds.
Azeri, never having regressed, with another small top in her last (after 3 straight 1's)was also a very positive line. Why I didn't play her is beyond me. The others weren't exactly strong. Tried to beat a "short" price, just plain stupid.
There really isn't anything that mysterious about Catalin's Euro numbers. Visit www.globeform.com, they do a nice job evaluating Euro/US horses. They loved Domedriver if I recall correctly. By reading www.racingpost.co.uk and www.sportinglife.com on a regular basis, you'll have a pretty good handle on horses that venture over here. The beautiful thing about the Racing Post is you can type in a horses name at the top of the page and get their pp's, click on the date of the race and you'll get a chart, not like ours, but still quite handy. If the race was in the UK, they most often will have an analysis. Another big bonus is you can retrieve their charts for the last ten years. Those guys do it right unlike Americas Turf Authority the DRF.
Hope that helps.
