We inquired about the horse before the Pa. Derby, and they wanted over a million off allowance wins. Since he's a gelding that seemed a little exorbitant. Can't imagine what they wanted (and got) after the stake win, but 1- it's possible that no one has ever gotten the better of Earl Mack in any deal (he was a client for a while, bought 4 horses with us, 2 became major sw, and he tried to get me to cut my commissions, he'll squeeze a dollar until it begs to be put out of it's misery), and 2- having the Arabs want to buy your horse is a very good thing. My guess is that they will have to win the BC or World Cup to break even, but they might. In this business what constitutes a good buy is relative.
