I live in the beach community in So Cal. Your hypothesis is correct. The Santa Ana winds blow from the desert to the ocean causing very dry and warm weather. Winds are expected to be 10-15 miles per hour and if they remain Santa Ana, they should be headwinds (albeit fairly minor) going into the stretch. While there are at least 10 major CA fires burning at present, none are in the Arcadia area. Weather is expected to be high of mid-80's during the day and lows of upper 50's at night.
