FWIW - In the 11th race at GP today Sat 1/20. Well-known trainer Todd Pletcher entered Linesman a nicely bred colt owned by Westerberg Mrs. John Magnier Michael B Tabor et al. They paid $600k at one of the Kee sales.
The morning line had him at 12/1 and he went off at 16/1. I know Todd is not famous because of turf races but come on he doesn't have any Tomato Cans in his barn.
He chose Paco Lopez to ride the first-timer. The race went as a crowd and Paco hugged the rail all the way. But there was such traffic Linesman never got a chance to stretch his legs and run.
Nonetheless, he finished a strong third and looked like he would have exploded if he had a lane.
A next-out bet is called for. I doubt I'm the only one who noticed the price, and the trip. He won't be 16/1 again but if he is not in vs Chad Brown trainees he could be useful.
