Mindframe and the crop. (466 Views)

With Mindframe moving 3 paths or more every time he is struck with the crop, why would you continue to use the crop? Add the ground loss on the turns, and the swerving from the crop, it has cost him two G1 races and probably the Eclipse award.

Dornoch is a nice horse, but he won those last two races just by saving ground and runing straight. I heard a rumor that Gargan wanted to scratch because of the one post. I thought it was a gift to get that post.

So why would Irad use the crop today?
Why would they want to scratch Dornoch because of the post?

I thought Dornoch would get a dream trip from that post, which he did, and that Irad would just give a vigorous hand ride , which he didn't and most likely lost him the race.

Does anyone else share that same logic and do you apply it to the figure a horse has ran and will run today.

Like the Travers coming up, if these top two comeback and with Sierra Leone in the field, does Dornoch win again with the same two variables, saving ground and running straight?
