Just a reminder.
When referring to a son or daughter of a sire, They are "by" that sire.
"Out of" refers to the dam. To my mind it is incredibly easy to remember, as the foal literally comes out of its mother.
Vekoma is interesting in that he contains a double cross of Hoist The Flag. His (Vekoma's) fourth dam Lianga could really run. By Dancer's Image, she won 11 of 21 starts and was champion sprinter in France during her 4yo season (1975).
The second dam was by Linkage, by the aforementioned Hoist The Flag. He was good enough to win 11 of 18 starts, including the 1982 Blue Grass Stakes. While he didn't distinguish himself as a sire, many fine bloodlines contain the name of otherwise forgettable stallions. It is how they make their mark.
