I didn't have a dime on the Risen Star. I was on the plane, and it was a close one if they would ever get in the gate and run before departure
East Avenue was giving me a Denis Moment vibe. Remember him? Broke his Maiden at Ellis Park by 25. Same place East Avenue did. Ran back at CD in tje Street Sense or something and was victorious in a facile win kinda sorta similar to East Avenue who went to Keeneland and won the Breeders Futurity.
So what happened next? He went to DelMar (?) Stumbled badly out of the GATE as the Favorite in the BC Juvy and never ran a jump. Didn't East Avenue stumble badly out of the GATE as the fsvorite in the BC Juvy?. I think he did. Denis came back in the Holy Bull or something. Was 4/5 and did nothing. No sense in repeating the Risen Star results. I could he wrong but East Avenue is damaged goods. Denis was never much after being a two race wonder.
If you're willing to give East Avenue a 2nd chance just don't do it with your own money. Right now between Churchills Sanctions and Brad "Sicario" Cox, Baffert is actually the Underdog. Think about that
The guy who is the Comeback Kid, the Cinderella Story. And he probably has the two best 3YOs. Interesting.....
