In a conversation with fellow TG user last week, we lamented the seeming demise of GP. Forgetting for a moment the politics in the track's future, it seemed to both of us that the stock is not "premium" fields. Comparing to year's past, we cited any decent amount of Welsch workout grades of "B+", let alone any "A-", big headlines, seemingly smaller field sizes most cards, Trainer stats less "standout" (Chad exception). Used to be the trainer stats really would highlight things such as "3rd out 3yo" for example...much less than in year's past. Unlike my friend Fairmount, I did not make FOY this year - and I was not alone (for me, as he pointed out, "age and health" got in the way). I have spent quite a bit of time seriously handicapping this winter, and it seems the stock in FL is not as prominent as in previous championship meets. Thoughts? Ideas as to why this might be?
