Ambush was Frankels plan for the Belmont the year Empire Faker won it. He ran both Peace Rules and Empire at Funny Cide in the Derby. He took Empire off the triple crown trail for five weeks of "working on the horse" but ran Peace Rules hard at Funny Cide in the Preakness. Peace Rules caved of course, but three weeks later he gave Peace Rules the week off and he and White Mercedes were positioned to steal one with science. It was a tag team steel cage match ambush. Peace Rules and Empire Maker with Frankel and White Mercedes vs. Funny Cide and No Mojo Tagg.

P.S. Peace Rules was the poster horse for chemistry both that year and the next.
