By the way, a lot of Belmont routes have a very slow first quarter. I don't think they're as indicative of the actual pace as you would think at first glance. It would require some more analysis on my part because I don't pay too much attention to the first 1/4 in routes. I look at the 1/2 and 3/4.
I thought Summerly ran about as well as expected. It was a pretty good effort considering even the trainer was saying she wouldn't be 100%. I was happy that Spun Sugar contested things and made life easier.
It's rare that I bet a 2-1 shot, but I made her a little better than Spun Sugar and I felt like I had to do something against Summerly at 6-5. It was a matter if it was just exactas or a win bet also.
