Lawyer Ron set a track record in the Whitney. That was motoring, though the track was kind to near pace horses.
Pletch commented that Lawyer Ron is a "good horse". Say it ain't so Pletch? He was a good horse when conditioned by Bob Holthus, why shouldn't he finally be a good horse when handled by you? Another question we are asking is "Why did it take you so long?" and lastly, What have you added to his training regimen?:

Commentator proved once again he really, really does not want a pace challenge. (Though the crowd is finally getting hip to his one dimensional style. He went off third choice at about 3-1) Commentator might have faired better in the Whitney. For those that are keeping score the horse that cooked him in the Vanderbilt is the same horse that cooked Lost in the Fog in the Breeders Cup Sprint, when the latter was being compared to Man O' War. Attila's was a good horse at good odds. Hopefully he'll get the big piece one day.
Lastly Rags to Riches has had more checkups with Vets now than than Alberto Speedy Gonzalez has told lies in hearings. I'm starting to wonder if we'll ever see either of them in top form again. For Rags that means catching a fatigued field, For Gonzo of course that means violating the Constitution in a surreptitious way.
