Deb,

I guess you're post implied that Point Given and War Emblem don't count for Baffert because Eoin Harty was gone as his assistant at the time he raced them.

I'm also surmising that you're implying that illegal medications have impacted the fertility of the two post Harty Classic winners. I suppose thats possible. I would point out that War Emblem is a very picky breeder. He won't just hop upon any filly. He has to genuinely like her. I don't quite understand that, but thats what they say. I haven't heard similarly of Point Given, so maybe his fertility is at issue. I guess we'll have to surmise Cigar was juiced up.

As far as an implication that Harty might be responsible for getting Baffert's two year olds over the hump. I'd have to ask, why is he having trouble in that regard? (His two year olds don't appear to be going on) I can't come up with a decent older horse for him, other than Street Cry. (Bad example. I think this one was purchased privately by Godolphin after his career began and he was trained by Suroor for his big wins) Few trainers could hope to work for a better Stable, however I do think he learned some things from Baffert that in the future will stand him in good stead.

Baffert has had a slew of horses that he gave time to and got them back running and as much as I discount his breeding, I wouldn't be entirely surprised if at some point he makes Roman Ruler a Grade I winner.
